About Me:

STREETDANCE INTERNATIONAL (SDI) is the official governing body of HipHop/Streetdance in the UK being affiliated to the British Dance Council (BDC) who are the members of the International Dance Organisation (IDO) who are linked to the Olympic Federation through the International Dance Sports Federation.

To simplify the SDI run Championship Street Dance Competitions throughout the UK offering registered Street Dance Schools the opportunity to compete against each other for the chance to win titles and trophies.

As the UK representatives of IDO, the SDI have the sole rights to send dancers from the UK to the "Official recognised” World Championship and as BDC members have sole and exclusive rights to grant Hiphop Streetdance Championships throughout the UK.
This group is for members of the SDI to keep you informed of competitions, events and workshops!

Our website is currently being updated ... we will post the link to the new and much improved site as soon as it is perfected

SDI alone has sent dancers to compete and represent England in the IDO World Championships in Germany and the IDO European championships in Denmark for the past 3 years.

Team England made an impact right from the start with FLAWLESS Entertainment winning the UK & World Championships in 2006 and Unity mirroring this in 2008 as well as brilliant results from all SDI schools. Also at the European Championships in 2008 LEVON Dasinva from Kelly Chandler's (KC's school of dance) placed 1st in the Junior Electric Boogie and 3rd in the Hip Hop Solo's.
We also had fantastic results all round in the Hip Hop sections so a massive well done to everyone. For the full results please see http://www.ido-online.org/

After these amazing achievements, we are really looking forward to the Qualifying Championship day on 26th April 2009.

This will be held in Reading and offers open dancers the chance to qualify for the official IDO World Championships which are to be held in Poland in September 2009.

For the third year in a row SDI are running 'Streets Ahead' this showcase performance in London gives SDI dancers another outlet for their talents and gives all schools the option to take part. This year's show will be held on 24th May - more information to follow

SDI is dedicated to moving street dance forward and have devised and set up the first professional examinations for Street Dance/Hip Hop with the NATD. We also offer professional workshops for trainee teachers to learn the syllabus and format for the exam. If you would like more information on the exam or workshops, please contact Carrie Ann Saint.

If you are going to Move It you can join in one of our three workshops throughout the weekend which are being given by Kelly Chandler, Tashan Muir (Unity) and Mark Cameron. Also on Saturday afternoon the SDI will be featured in the main Streetdance showcase on the main stage.

Moving on further the SDI will be promoting National University Street Dance Events with the first one in Liverpool in March - and much more to follow I am sure.
